A series of five 2x2 foot canvases that explore the concept of quantum superposition. Each canvas starts with the same basic abstract design rendered in grayscale. On top of this, layers of transparent, iridescent paint are applied in different configurations on each canvas. Depending on the angle of viewing and the lighting conditions, different colors and patterns become visible or disappear. This creates the illusion of multiple paintings existing simultaneously in different "quantum states". Viewing all five canvases together under changing light presents a mesmerizing array of shifting possibilities.
