The artwork is actually a vertical garden system with a carefully curated selection of mosses, lichens, and small plants arranged to create a landscape scene. The "sky" is made of blue-tinted air plants, while "clouds" are formed from white-flowering miniature orchids. Mountains are sculpted from various mosses in shades of green and brown, while a "river" of blue-flowering lobelia winds through the scene. The artwork is self-sustaining, with a hidden irrigation system keeping the plants alive. Over time, the plants grow and change, causing the artwork to slowly evolve.
