A 50-foot tall installation consisting of thousands of thin, colored acrylic rods suspended from the ceiling. The rods vary in length and are arranged to form a twisting, tornado-like shape. Each rod is embedded with LED lights that can change color independently. Complex algorithms drive ever-changing patterns of color that flow through the structure, sometimes in waves, sometimes in spirals, sometimes in chaotic bursts. Viewers can walk around and even through the installation, finding themselves immersed in a constantly shifting sea of light and color. Motion sensors detect the presence of viewers, causing nearby rods to react with ripples of color.
